This is the Fourteenth in our series of Limited Edition Christmas Ornaments of the "Old Fashioned" glass type which features the Montgomery County Courthouse in Mount Ida that saw service from 1846 - 1923.


<>1840  --  Montgomery County formed.
1846  --  One room log building constructed as the    “County  House"

 <>1873  --  Second story added to building. Exterior surfaced with wood siding and painted white. Well house gazebo constructed. <> 

?    --  Porch posts and second story balcony added. Well
house gazebo improved.

 <>1909  --  One story stone building constructed as Clerk’s Office. <>1923  --  Existing courthouse built with native stone. Old framed building was moved aside on logs to   continue being used during construction of new courthouse on original site.
